zur ausführlichen Kursbeschreibung des Künstlers:

This course is for those who already have some metal skills in jewellery but they want to get involved in the usage of iron in jewellery making. This metal is not only beautiful itself but it offers endless possibilities by its malleability, strength and you can give it the most exciting finishes from shiny to rough and jagged. Even though it is not stainless steel, practically in the conditions that we maintain around our body it does not get rusty. And it has a lovely fragrance too.

On the first day of the course I will give a lecture on iron. After the QA I will demonstrate some techniques.

The next day you will start your own projects. I will offer you several options and I will suggest you the order in which it is more convenient to go through on them. I will follow everybody personally.

Through these exercices you not only realise some iron jewellery but most of all you will learn some important techniques that later you can use to realise your own designs.

Among these techniques I would highlight:

         – Hotforming and forging

                   – moving the metal

                   – actual forging (hot and cold)

         – Cutting

         – Heat treatments, usage of the flame

         – Drilling and rivetting

                   – structural and ornamental rivets, cold connections,

combinations of cold and hot connections

         – Surface finishes

                   – abresives

                   – hammer textures

                   – chemicals

                   – heat

         – Simple inlay of copperous metals into iron
